It turned out almost every year I baked the sugar cookies first and ended up decorating them last. I used to either paint them with food color and sugar or intricately frost them. It was time consuming, but I loved doing it in the early years.
|2 1⁄2||Cup||Flour||2 1/2 Cup + 2 Tbsp|
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients together, add to egg mix. Shape into mound, wrap in Saran wrap and chill. Roll to 1/4" thick or a little less. Dip cooky cutter in flour each time before cutting. Keep board floured with each roll out. Place on lightly greased cooky sheet. Can brush with egg white and sprinkle sugar on them, and then bake. Bake 375 degrees ~ 8 minutes or until delicately browned. Frost to decorate.
