This is a recipe from my best childhood friend's mother. It takes some time to make, but they are worth it.
|1⁄2||Lb||Butter||2 sticks, butter or margarine|
|1⁄2||Package||Yeast||~1 tsp; mix into flour|
Combine flour, yeast, butter, salt and sugar. Mix like a pie crust. Add egg, mix well, then add sour cream, mix well. If dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Chill overnight.
On floured board, roll out very thin and cut into squares. (I use ~3x2" diamond shape cutter.) Fill with pineapple, apricot, or prune preserves. Folder over to form a triangle. Use fork to press and seal edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Cool, sprinkle with powered sugar.
