Rainbow Ribbons

Ingredients:

3 12 Cup Flour   Put all in mixing bowl. Beat on low until well blended. Scrape with rubber spatula.
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
12 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Powder
2 Each Egg
1 tsp Instant Coffee   For first third "cocoa." (Water is hot)
2 tsp Water
2 Tbsp Cocoa
1 tsp Anise Extract   For second third "green."
2 Drops Green Food Coloring
2 Drops Red Food Coloring   For last third "pink."

Divide dough into thirds. In the first third, dissolve coffee in the water. Stir in and add cocoa. Mix well. In the second third, add anise extract and enough green color to tint a pretty green color. In the last third, add red color to tint a pretty pink.

In a meatloaf pan lined with saran wrap, pack red dough, then pack chocolate dough, then pack green dough on top, pressing all together really well. Cover with saran wrap and chill overnight. Dump out on cutting board. Cut lengthwise into 3 strips. Refrigerate 2 of the strips while slicing the first. Slice a little less than 1/4" Place on cookie sheet. Bake 350 degrees 6-7 minutes. Watch them so they don't get too dark and lose their color.
